The Diploma of Remedial Massage

HLT 50307 National Health Training Package

A eleven month Training Program accredited by the Tropical North Institute of TAFE. The second intake of students commences September 25, 2008 and goes to December 18, 2009.

This qualification is nationally recognized throughout Australia and provides students with the skills and knowledge to become a remedial massage therapist/practitioner and be self-employed as an independent practitioner or work within a larger health service. The Diploma will allow you to apply for membership of professional associations in Australia and apply for private health refund rebate status. Because students have already completed core modules in HLT40307 Certificate IV Massage, the remaining units required to attain HLT50307 Diploma of Remedial Massage are an extension of existing practical massage skills to encompass remedial practices.

Successful graduates can provide remedial massage treatment to clients with specific needs such as injury management, rehabilitation, palliative and aged care, women and children. Practitioners with this qualification can also supervise other massage therapists. Qualified students can be involved in work environments such as multi-discipline massage or alternate therapy clinics, health resorts/retreats and spa centres.
