Short Certificate Course in Shiatsu (2008-09)
Certificates in Shiatsu will provide students with a basic understanding and grounding in the practical application of Zen Shiatsu. It will enable students to perform a basic diagnosis of a range of conditions by utilizing knowledge based on the Oriental medical theory and philosophy.
The skills learned can be integrated /incorporated with a wide range of other therapies such as Physiotherapy, Osteopathy, Kinesiology, Myo-fascia Release Therapy and other Western and Oriental massage therapies.
Subjects include: A Core unit Anatomy & Physiology, Anatomy & Movement, Professional Practices, Clinical Strategies (Treatment Techniques) , Theory and Techniques (Oriental Theory) Zen Shiatsu Practice & Theory
Graduates will be able to use the skills in general practice treating muscular-skeletal and stress related conditions, as a complementary technique alongside Remedial Therapies or the Oriental Modalities.
These short courses can be studied as modules within/during the Diploma in Shiatsu & Oriental Therapies 2008-09
All modules and subjects are cross-referenced with the National Health Training Package Previously known as Certificate IV in Shiatsu
