Traditional Thai Medical Therapy
A 30-Hour training in TTM Bodywork (WAT PO)
This unit can be taken during September - October as part of the present Diploma course
Delivered as a 10 week x 3hr Intensive
This introduction into the Traditional Thai Medical form of Body Work finds its roots in Buddhism and was brought to Thailand around the 3 rd century BC. Originally practiced in the temples of the old Siam, in those days the centers of education saw a decline when western medicine was introduced. Today this neglect of Thai Bodywork is being reversed and has led to the revival in the Art, both in Thailand and in the West.
It is used in supporting the body to attain or regain energetic balance and works both on the deeper layers of the muscular system.... ligaments, joints and connective tissue. But touches all area of the body, including the nervous, digestive and respiratory system. This Ancient Art holds a close relationship with Ayurvedics, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Yoga and Japanese Shiatsu This introduction is based on the WAT PO style and will be followed by intermediate training in 2007.
